66.8 MP full-frame fully-stacked CMOS Exmor RS™

The α7R VI delivers 30 fps bursts, uncropped 4K 60p, enhanced dynamic range, and reliable low-light AF with its fully-stacked Exmor RS sensor.

BIONZ XR2™ with integrated AI processing unit

The BIONZ XR2 engine with integrated AI delivers improved image quality, faster performance, up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second, blackout-free shooting, and enhanced subject recognition.

Expansive creative potential

The fully-stacked Exmor RS sensor delivers 66.8 MP resolution, exceptional detail, reduced shadow noise, and natural skin tones.

Lifelike rendering of wide dynamic range scenes

The enhanced D-Range Optimizer (DRO) balances highlights and shadows with adjustable settings up to Lv8, revealing shadow details in backlit scenes for more natural-looking portraits.

Up to 8.5-step central and 7.0-step peripheral stabilisation

Superb stabilisation performance maximises resolution, preventing degradation due to blur. Stabilisation is even more effective with compatible lenses, and telephoto lens shake is also effectively suppressed.

Full-frame 4K 60p video without cropping

The α7R VI delivers uncropped 4K 60p and 120p recording with 4:2:2 colour sampling and 10-bit depth for exceptional video quality.

8K movies for spectacular resolution

Record stunning 8K 30p video with 8.2K oversampling, 4:2:2 10-bit colour, precise autofocus, and natural gradations and colours.

Up to 16-stop dynamic range

Up to 16 stops of dynamic range at low sensitivities supports HDR processing. Outstanding resolution and high sensitivity capture stunning imagery throughout the ISO 100-32000 range. Noise in night scenes is also reduced.

Upgraded format options with lightweight RAW

A [Compressed (HQ)] RAW format has been added to the existing format, providing lightweight RAW files that enable continuous shooting while maintaining high image quality.

Three composite RAW modes

[Pixel Shift Multi] mode creates composites with extremely high resolution, [NR Shooting] produces low-noise images, and [Shooting for HDR] captures images with a wide dynamic range.

Extended RAW processing uses deep learning for enhanced quality

Extended RAW offers two image-enhancing functions: [Extended Hi-Res], which boosts the pixel count of captured images by a factor of four to approximately 270 MP, and [Extended NR] for high noise reduction with full resolution.

Faster, more stable Wi-Fi

Built-in Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO enables fast, stable wireless tethering and reliable FTP transfers across 6, 5, and 2.4 GHz bands.

Dual CFexpress Type A memory card slots

Dual slots support CFexpress Type A and SD cards, with flexible storage options including simultaneous recording and separate JPEG/HEIF and RAW file storage.

Approx. 94% AF coverage for extra framing freedom

Fast readout and processing deliver notably improved AF. 759 phase detection points cover about 94% of the image area for precise focusing for shooting stills, even when the subject is small in the frame.
